The Millers welcome Stafford Town to Church Lane in the North West Counties League Division One South this weekend with Dave Birch and Mike Norton's side looking to build on last Saturday's victory over Brocton and remain hot on the heels of leaders West Didsbury & Chorlton.
With a lengthy injury list, including Mason Fallon, Rick Tindall and Kyle Oakes, The Millers are delighted to welcome Jack Wray back from suspension this weekend, although Adam Stuart still has two matches of his ban to serve following his red card at Abbey Hey. Good news for Millers supporters is that Fallon returned to light training this week and hopes to be in contention for the trip to Rocester on 30 October.
With the injuries piling up and a packed fixture list on the horizon there have been several new faces at training in recent weeks in addition to recent signings Ben Richardson and Finlay Phillips who were both in the squad for last weekends game.
Stafford Town arrive at Church Lane on the back of two victories, over Sandbch United and Stockport Town, and they have enjoyed several fine victories so far during the 2021/22 campaign. Inconsistency seems to have been their main concern as in spite of those wins they have lost 7 of their league games so far and remain in mi-table. A trip to Church Lane will be viewed as the ideal opportunity for them to show their credentials as they bid to push up the table.
The game at Church Lane kicks off at 3:00pm and there will be a minutes applause prior to the game for non-league legend Gary Lowe, former Manager of Curzon Ashton and Hyde United as well as father of Benito Lowe, who passed away a year ago. Please come along and show your support.
