The Millers secured a 2-0 victory over Cheadle Heath Nomads in their NWCFL First Division South match, in front of a bumper crowd of 558, the game featured as part of the Groundhop 2025 event.
Both goals came in the first half, in fact The Millers could have led even earlier Tom Woodward shooting wide on three minutes before Will Shawcross saw a penalty saved three minutes later, the deadlock was broken shortly after though, Ash Woods slotting home in the 13th minute. Chris Pauley smashed in a second on 19 minutes, his celebration being one of the highlights of the season.
Nomads settled into the game after the early set-back, demonstrating their quality as they continue to push for a play-off place and although they enjoyed plenty of possession they rarely threatened Joey Oldham in The Millers goal, his defence holding firm as the game raced from end to end. There were no further additions to the score though, The Millers maintaining their two goal lead, while looking a threat going forward, and recording a first clean sheet since October, and a first home win since August.
