The Millers recorded their largest victory of the season, finally producing the clinical performance that they have been promising in recent games. Early goals by Danny Warburton and Chad Whyte settled the nerves and, although Georgians enjoyed a period of dominance towards the end of the first half the result never looked in doubt. Warburton converted nicely from an Ant Hall cross on nine minutes, before Whyte’s stunning strike eight minutes later made it three successive games with a goal for the experienced striker.
Georgians battled hard in the opening stages of the second period, without ever seriously looking like mounting a recovery, but once Harry Dean raced through to add a third for the home side the game was over. Luke Merrill produced an impressive finish late on to give the score line a truly comprehensive look. The Millers management team used the opportunity to use all of their subtitutes, Kai Haigh coming on for his debut and Jack Lever making a welcome return from injury.
Ashville visit Church Lane at weekend with The Millers now looking to build on this win, which has moved them level on points with Winsford United in the league table.
