The Millers left ruing another late lapse as they conceded a last-minute equaliser for the second game running, drawing 1–1 away at Foley Meir.
The visitors were excellent in the first half, dominating possession and creating several clear chances. Their pressure paid off when they took the lead with a well-worked goal, Millen Brown curling in a free-kick, showcasing sharp movement and clinical finishing.
However, the second half told a different story. Foley Meir came out with renewed intensity, putting The Millers under sustained pressure. Despite some resolute defending and key saves, New Mills couldn’t hold on, and Foley Meir, in spite of being reduced to ten men, snatched a dramatic equaliser in the dying moments. There was more bad news for Chris Baguley's side, as Elliot Cooke was forced off with what appeared to be a serious shoulder injury.
It was a frustrating afternoon for The Millers, who will feel they deserved more after a strong first-half performance. The team will need to find a way to see out games more effectively as they look to bounce back in their next fixture.
