New Mills secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Eccleshall at Church Lane in a North West Counties Football League Division One South clash, with debutant Millen Brown and Danny Warburton scoring early to seal the points for the Millers.
The home side wasted no time asserting dominance, as Millen Brown marked his first appearance for the club with a goal on four minutes. The midfielder, who joined from Irlam a week ago, adding to his strike in the friendly against Flixton last Saturday with another tidy finish.
Just minutes later and The Millers doubled their lead, Danny Warburton opening his account for the season with a close range header.
The visitors were not deterred by the setback and more than played their part in what became an evenly fought end to end contest. The Millers hung on for the win, Callum Jakovlevs registering his second clean sheet of the campaign.
