The Millers produced a fine battling display to move into the next round of the FA Vase at the expense of a Goole side who fully played their part in what was a pulsating cup tie. Chris Baguley was forced to make changes to his side, with Ben McNamara suspended and James Perry, Danny Warburton and Will Shawcross all unavailable, switching formation to nest utilise the players who were able to make the trip. A delayed kick off due to traffic congestion, further adding to The Millers pre-match issues, seemed to have no negative effect as it was the visitors who started the brighter, taking the lead on 9 minutes Kain Dean’s long cross found its way to twin brother Harry who finished nicely.

The Millers led until shortly before the hour mark when Liam Flanagan finished well to level the scores. The Millers responded by making tactical changes and were rewarded within minutes when Josh Abbot, on for Lee Knight, finished superbly to put his side in front once more. Goole piled players forward in search of an equaliser and were caught on the break with nine minutes to play. Lewis McGill cleverly picked out Harry Dean who fired in his second of the game to finally kill any hopes of a comeback by their hosts.
