We begin the countdown of our best players since re-joining NWCFL

The Millers media team have been busily creating a shortlist of the best players to represent the club since rejoining the North West Counties Football League in 2004. In creating the final list all aspects of the players Church Lane career were taken into account, as well as the performances of the player. Some players may be in based on loyalty and longevity, while others may be in based on providing magical moments to the Church Lane support. It wasn't a quick process and it's a tricky business trying to come up with the right answers, where there is no right answer and in a game where everyone has an opinion. Without further ado, here are numbers 25-21;

25. Dominic Ingram-Hughes
It would need a great goalkeeper to replace supporters favourite and the player selected in goal in the all time Millers XI Liam Higginbotham in the Millers line-up, and Ingram-Hughes proved a more than capable replacement. Initially joining the club from Woodley Sports to cover while Higginbotham was injured, Ingram-Hughes made the Number One shirt his own and was to keep the position once Higginbotham returned to fitness, which eventually led to his departure from Church Lane. Ingram-Hughes wasa key figure in the FA Vase run of 2009/10 under Tony Hancock, as well as being first choice goalkeeper in the side Ally Pickering led to the North West Counties League Premier Division title in 2010/11.

24. Nathan Neequaye
Experienced striker joined the Milers from Stockport Town in December 2016, signed by then Manager Calum Sykes. Neequaye maintained an impressive scoring record in spite of the clubs relegation in 16/17 and remains at the club to this day, still boasting a healthy goals per game ratio.

23. Ryan Hopper
Hopper was brought to the club by the Management team of Roy Soule and Paul Armstrong in 2013, signing from Mossley, and was to remain at Church Lane for several seasons, snubbing many offers to move on during that time. A combative midfielder, Hopper showed great loyalty to the club during his spell as a Miller and became a firm fans favourite. Eventually Hopper departed in the summer of 2017, joining Winsford United. While everyone at Church Lane was sorry to see him leave, he still remains hugely popular at the club and regularly attends matches as a spectator.

22. Bobby Lloyd
Brought to the club by Tony Hancock during the 2009/10 season, Lloyd is widely regarded as one of the most talented players to represent the club in recent years. Possessing bundles of trickery, skill and pace, Lloyd could play in virtually any attacking position with equal success. Sadly his stay at Church Lane was only a short one, around half a season in terms of games played, but his name is still spoken around the club as one of the finest to appear in an amber shirt.

21. Daniel Grimshaw
Versatile midfield player joined the Millers from FC United in 2012, scoring the winning goal on his debut in the FA Trophy victory over Ossett Albion, Grimshaw was to remain at Church Lane for several seasons before moving on to play for Mossley. Grimshaw was to remain playing at Evo-Stik level and in 2017/18 was on the books of Brighouse Town.
