Former New Mills AFC player Chris Unsworth, a founder member of the trust was present at the opening game of the 2018/19 season, supported by a number of former players including Gary Ingleby, Gary Morgan, Steven Land, Graham Blackwell, Alan Henderson, Stacey Wild and Andrew Hackney.

The Offside Trust was created to raise awareness of (and to prevent) child abuse in sport following a number of high profile cases in recent years, their work being to ensure that survivors are able to come forward for support, and to work with clubs and governing bodies to ensure that similar crimes are prevented in the future.
