The Millers face Sandbach United at Church Lane this afternoon (kick off 3:00pm) looking to build on successive victories over Rocester, in the North West Counties League, and Atherton Laburnum Rovers, FA Vase.
After a disappointing August The Millers joint-Managers Dave Birch and Mike Norton will be hoping that their side have turned a corner, the return from injury of Elliot Cooke and Raheem Hanley coinciding with an upturn in form. Summer signing Marcus Dibble appears to have overcome injury issues of his own and has been in fine form in recent games, while Jack Wray is also showing some of his best form since joining the club. Darren McKnight missed the win at weekend but is expected to return this afternoon, while Teddy Osipitan is pushing for a starting place after scoring the winner on Saturday.
The last time the sides met at Church Lane, back in November 2021, Osipitan was the Man of the Match, as the visitors struggled to handle his pace and direct style, as The Millers ran out 4-0 winners. The return fixture saw The Millers take the spoils again as goals by Joe Bevan, Jack Wray and McKnight saw their side record a three goal victory.
Sandbach have made a positive start to 2022/23 and currently sit just outside the play off places with The Millers back in mid-table. Both sides will be looking to this game to show their credentials for the months ahead as the league table starts to take shape.
Kick off is at 3:00pm and usual admission charges apply.
