The 2019/20 season was one of ups and down for The Millers before eventually being brought to a premature end by the Covid-19 situation around the world. Here the Millers Media Team take a look back at the season just gone, in alphabetical order. Here we look at the F’s;
FALLON (Mason) - The Millers have seen some fabulous left backs at Church Lane since the club returned to semi-professional football in 2004, the likes of Adam Mather, Dave Fitzpatrick and Mark Innes wearing the number 3 shirt with distinction, and Mason Fallon has shown enough during his short time at the club to suggest that he will be mentioned in the same bracket as that trio. Comfortable in defence and attack Fallon must rank among Dave Birch and Mike Norton’s best signings
FA VASE - The Millers have exited this competition at the earliest stage for the last three seasons, Skelmersdale United victorious in late August at Church Lane ensuring that run continued into a fourth year
FORTH (Dylan) - Goalkeeper Forth arrived at Church Lane in late September and immediately established himself as the first choice. Possesses experience beyond his years having played regularly several divisions higher and was was rightly categorised among the best keepers in the league prior to suffering injury in mid-December. Made a comeback just prior to the cancellation of the league in March
FOWELL (Alex) - Started the season as The Miller Number 1 and was one of the few success stories of the opening month of the season. Retained the number 1 shirt until the arrival of Dylan Forth but then bounced back and showed good form over the Christmas/New Year period. Lost his place towards the end of the season, but very highly regarded among supporters
FREE-KICKS - Church Lane had once been the home of free-kick specialists, the likes of Carlos Meakin and Dave Fitzpatrick with an astonishing success rate from dead ball situations. Supporters were thrilled to see their side become a threat once more as Darren McKnight and then James Neild ensured that a free-kick outside the area was every bit as dangerous as a penalty
