First team squad update

“ Brothers in Arms “ at Church Lane.

A number of new players have been added to the first team squad recently.

The signings of Chris Baguley from Ashton United and Aaron Chalmers from Southport means that they will be joining their brothers - Jamie and Lewis – at Church Lane.

The new additions are –

Chris Baguley – re-joins his elder brother Jamie for a second spell at Church Lane after leaving Ashton United. Chris is a former Oldham Athletic midfield playmaker who has also previously played for FC United of Manchester, Australian side Mandurah City, Leigh Genesis, Salford City and Rossendale United.

Westley ( Wes ) Bancroft – Formerly with Northwich Victoria and Irlam, striker Wes played for Salford City during their inaugural Northern Premier League campaign and re-signed for The Ammies in the summer of 2013 following a couple of successful seasons with Hindsford in the Manchester League.

Aaron Chalmers – signed from Southport, Aaron is predominantly a midfielder but regularly featured at right-back during his spell at The Sandgrounders. Formerly with Oldham Athletic where he made two League appearances for the first team, Aaron has subsequently played for several local Clubs including Macclesfield Town, Mossley, Droylsden and Stockport Sports.

Matthew Dawson – Previously registered in The Northern Premier League with the now defunct Hinckley United, Matt joined The Millers in November. A defender by trade, Matt is studying locally and signed for the Club after impressing the management during training sessions.

Michael Smith – Midfield player who caught the eye of manager Roy Soule when he played a significant role for Prescot Cables when they beat The Millers 7-1 in early September. An ex professional at Fleetwood Town who represented England at Under 18 level, Michael has shown his versatility be playing in a number of different positions since his arrival at Church Lane in November.
